Globalization
So. I just read a text about Globalization, which was pretty interesting. So I'm gonna tell you something about it's content.
The author started with the question, wheather the Globalization started in 1492 or just a few years ago.?! The time from when Columbus discovered america until now is parted into three parts: Globalization 1.0, Globalization 2.0 and Globalization 3.0.
Globalization 1.0 starts with the discovery of america and lasts until about 1800 when the industrail revolution starts. The second is from 1800 to about 2000. the industrial revolution. interrupted by WW1 and WW2.And we are in the globalization phase 3.0. The world gets smaller. We can get to the other end of the world in a few hours. In 1492 it wasn't even possible and just short trips took about a few weeks. when people wanted to cross the atlantic ocean it wasn't even safe, if they gonna survive this journey.
But times have changed and nowwadays the world is really small. We eat fresh fruits from all over the world and it is kind of normal for us to receive these products.
So this article was really impressive for me. It shows what a high standard of living we have. And how lucky we all are to have enough food and don't have to die of hunger.
